CHANGE

One of the greatest facts about life is change. As the planet rotates and revolves in its orbit, everything inside it undergoes the process of change. Living and non-living things change, human attitudes and values change and even the concept of truth changes through time. There was even a time in history where in people believed that the world is flat. Very often strangers become close friends and family relatives can become our enemies. As we go on with our lives, we will see many changes and we can either benefit or lose from them.
Change is a constant thing according to science and philosophy. The world has moved from the stone ages to the advancement of technology, from wildlife to city living and from wars to worldwide unions. Naturally, humans are subject to growth and learning, and every piece of knowledge that is passed from generation to generation contributed in the continuous reshaping of our world. Great heroes are labeled as pioneers of change and up until now advocacies are being promoted in hope for changes in the society. Change is something that keeps our hopes high and enables us to look forward to the future.
On the other hand, there are people who fear change practically because change comes with pain and sometimes suffering. Even terrains are changed through devastating volcanic eruptions and massive earthquakes. Couples mutually achieved growth only after accepting that each of them changed and will continuously change. Passively, the human body is subject to growth thus it ages and all kinds of changes may it be beautiful or ugly takes place. There are even times that sacrifices are needed in achieving change but with wisdom and understanding, we can call such things as “growing pains”.
There are times that changes happened to awaken us. Today we are facing the issue on climate change. Many environment advocates have stepped into the scenery to challenge everybody to move for a change. The formula lies in understanding and accepting that those changes are necessary and that we need to act for us to survive.
Mortal life is defined by change. Hair colors change. Body figures change. Our parents love may change. Friends can become unfriendly. Partners can become unfaithful. Sexual appetites change. Monetary values change as the economic status of each nation changes. Even our lucks change from time to time. Though these changes can become very painful, they can open avenues to greater developments if handled wisely. Why? Because another truth is that change produces change. Hatred may turn into love with just a change in personality. Anger may turn into kindness when there is a change of heart and we can definitely help in making this world a better place just by renewing the perspectives of our minds.
